Obituary

Stella Antal Trenk, 92, of Belle Vernon, Washington Township, died Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 9 a.m. at Residence At Hilltop, Monongahela. Born Sept. 9, 1921, in Belle Vernon, she was the daughter of the late Martin Antal Sr. and Agnes Golema Antal. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Trenk was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a retired operator from the former Belle Telephone. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, was an avid card player and enjoyed going to the casinos. She was a member of the former Belle Vernon American Legion 659 Ladies Auxiliary, Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Michelle Trenk of Belle Vernon, Richard and Jody Trenk of Belle Vernon, four grandchildren, Jimmy Trenk, Christopher and Lacey Trenk, Bethany Trenk, Richelle and Joseph Romanchak, three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Nina, and Luke Romanchak, a brother, Joseph Antal of Belle Vernon, sister, Elizabeth Lucas of Pittsburgh, and a very special niece, Carol and Dave Shernisky. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Trenk Sr. on Sept. 1, 1995, five sisters, Anna Cernicky, Pauline Antal, Helen Bassar, Mary Leonard, Sophie Nusser, and three brothers, Martin D. Antal Jr., John Antal and Stephen Antal. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayer service will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Bump as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Stella Trenk Friday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
